For me, I have discovered, the greatest obstacle to my personal satisfaction is not getting my own way! Of course, you say, that’s obvious. How could you be personally satisfied when you aren’t getting what you want.

That’s not what I mean. Because I have also discovered that when I get my own way I’m not necessarily satisfied. Getting what I want does not guarantee me personal satisfaction.

What I am saying is this; when I don’t get my own way I am depressed and brooding. And that keeps me from being personally satisfied. For I have also discovered that I can be personally satisfied when I don’t get my own way.

So here it is my New Year Resolution for 2019:

I RESOLVE TO GIVE UP DEPRESSION AND BROODING WHEN I DON’T GET MY OWN WAY.

So, I pray all the more earnestly; “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”
